When life gets expensive as the years get by, a million isn't enough to depend on. I believe it is more on what we spend and where our priority lies in.
I'm 40. I can't work full time having to care for my parents. And my income even if I work as full time isn't enough to get a helper to accompany my parents and ease their chores. I worked part time. It's a trade between my energy and the need for money. Whereas at the back of my head I wonder about cpf contribution too. I can push myself to take the pressure of full time work alongside being a caregiver only at the expense of deteriorating my health. So it's tricky to think of retirement in Singapore. I conquer with your thoughts that we should align our plans to practicality of reality. I believe I will need to work even at 50-60 onwards.
