This is very true. In my Islamic perspective, the body only returns to the soil, but the soul lives on. If anyone knows the spiritual aspect they can connect with the passing on of their loved ones. But often today, there are people who only sticks to the theories of the Words without considering the spiritual aspect. We have this issue too that these theoretical group thinks whoever indulges in the spiritual aspect seems to have deviated from the religious aspect. My teacher taught me to understand what is called the people at identity stations (those who only sticked to books) , the stations of spiritual aspect by faith and those who reached the station of saints or sages of the past (knowing beyond the water surface level of religious aspect like those who are able to connect with the other world...). So, it helps me to understand better why Catholics spoke to Mother Mary and Muslims who are at the higher spiritual level interceded with Muhammed peace be upon him, and so on. I met a Sikh woman who had common heart with me that we love to build the spiritual communication not just bookish theories which rather focused very much on symbolic.
