I still can't understand the last situation about the cab. Emotions ain't obstacles but means to successful negotiation? How is that so? Do you mind sharing with me? Because I always realized that the dreams I wanted to work towards and yet did not get to it were because of my emotions and feelings of placing others first before myself. Too soft hearted, my late aunt said.

For example,

Some of us don't wait till we have a university degree just to help others in charity or bless a meal among siblings.

Others are mindful that we should not do that because we should keep the money to ourselves and achieve all that we need first before we think of spending even a meal for a day to a sibling.
