Since you are already on Medium, and I read that you are an American living in France, I am sure you could apply for the MPP and monetize your article. No sooner or later you will have some allowances coming through your Medium articles. This is another added value to earn though little and who knows it will snowball into almost thousands to thousands of money subsequently. We are in the era that we could not put all eggs into one basket. I am from Singapore. Initially Medium monetization works for me, but Stripe account shut down on me without further explanation. Despite raising a call for dispute and so on, they politely informed me that they will not reveal further reasons why I could not use stripe. I am still not earning anything. Hence I decided to stop writing for a moment in Medium, just in time that my dad is admitted for brain cancer. It isn't something nice. And that gives me more reason i need to get a job soon.
