Disclaimer: Names* changed to protect the identity of the person. Any similarity is pure coincident. Or perhaps, real.

“Actually, she wants me to leave…” said Beth*

Beth’s* confessions linger in my ears. It is unbelievable.

When I think over her situation, I begin to see that there are signs to tell us get out, move now, or leave now.

However, we take a lot of time before we get it. Often, we are unable to tell if it is real.

We want to give it another try. We want to think good of others and the situation. We do not want to give up too early. We do not want to be negative thinkers…

Not until it becomes late, although not too late…Late because the hurt and pain accumulate within us much. And to restore us again takes even more.

So, I am here to share with you 1 of the 3 signs that your mama universe or your spiritual guide is giving you when it is time to kick the dust off your feet and move on.

Some people say, use our intuition while others say… Listen to what the spirit nudges.

Come, let’s continue to read.

The person makes it difficult for you…

When anything is meant to ease you, nothing can get into your way. It falls nicely in place. But not this one…

I take Beth’s* situation as an example here. She moved in with rental fee of $650. The landlord asked for an additional $50 over 3 consecutive months.

She wasn’t allowed to cook or watch any shows on the TV. She couldn’t rest freely at the living room or wash her clothes more than once a week. She could only use the air con if she paid extra cash.

Eating out was sure costly in my country. Despite working full time, there were occasions she had to borrow money from me — back then, I was just a part-time crew.

Eventually, the landlord increased the rental to $900. She still had to send home money and wanted to save some for herself.

After these ordeals that seemed to suffocate her, she moved out to a new place.

What can Beth* do now?

Cooking is allowed. Watching TV at the living hall and using Wi-Fi Internet are allowed. Washing laundry 2x a week is allowed. Fan, table, drawers, bedsheet, pillows, aroma scent candle, and so on are available upon moving in. She only pays her new landlord $700. Beth has been staying at this new place for already coming 2 years.

The Muslim landlord did not increase the rental fees. Beth* could even have a small Mother Mary figurine in her own room. She could pray being a Christian. The landlord is another good friend she gained. That would not happen if she did not make the move.

Moral of the Story:

People won’t tell you directly to get out of your rented space if they feel indebted or guilt conscious. They will not tell you to leave when you are flawless.

They wait until you can’t stand it any longer by making unbearable terms and conditions for you.

They will not want to feel like a bad ass. They rather that you leave by your choice.

Have you ever been in this situation? Or ever witnessed one before?

Let me put it this way. Even your managers could not tell you to leave or fire you from the job without catching your offences or flaws. Sometimes, they waited for the others to make noises to be a reason that you should leave.

Well, this story had been written last year. I thought it would be good to publish it today.
