Through A Stewardess Story
From My General Manager I Learned…
if I were to write like a Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius Book One ,I would sound like this…
Disclaimer: Names* changed to protect the identity of my love ones. Any resemblances were by pure coincidence.’
We meet people for reasons and purposes God has written. I always want to see how God sees through the people He brings into my life. From the French covenant He provided, I found His Love and Grace are vast.
May your heart fill with smile and joy as you read…Here we go.
From my GM Gwen*, I learned…
1 — Be the joyful noise when no one else seems to be one. When we wait for someone to uplift the environment with happiness, we waste the opportunity to make someone else’s day. So, always try to find the courage to take the first step and make a joyful noise. Be the 1st to make the change when nothing happens.
From my GM Gwen*, I learned too…
2 — Even the most beautiful thing is the most dangerous thing. And that means what is good can be bad for you and me. Something we think that is wonderful comes with the repercussion of it.
Perhaps working in the office may have taken away my joy in the mid of many challenges. I am serving in the kitchen surrounded by people of different languages and beliefs. I thank You, Lord.
From my Head of Sommeliers (Wine) George*, I learned…
3 — Be the1st to greet others each time you meet at the beginning of the day. Even when your eyes meet, be quick to wish each other goodness and well-being. It not only brightens up the atmosphere, but you are strengthening one another for love sake.
Sometimes, people wait for us to approach them with kindness plus care before they are confident we are approachable and friendly. Make them feel welcomed and at home.
From my Restaurant Manager Diyogen*, I learned…
4 — Lead and live with friendliness and courtesy. Your smile and greetings lift up one another in joy and strength as the joy of our Lord is our strength. Without his presence, the day seems dull and blue.
He spells enough how a soul with Christ living in him blooms without a need for personal interactions. When you have love, joy, charisma, just by being around, people will be able to feel you from their hearts.
I am my brother’s keeper…
These people shine the meaning of this phrase to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for welcoming and accepting me as I am — just a stewardess.
With love,
N.A.
