Fiza, this is a very detailed and insightful article you wrote. It is a thoughtful effort and I am also asking myself nowadays where is my passion or what is my calling. I left my job in the government service as a warden after a decade. I was looking for a purpose driven life. I found it through spirituality and religious studies. Then it got me to Yemen where my experience was more of serving like what the dervishes did in a dergah while the rest were there to gain knowledge and be smart about details and information through madrasah. I felt so lost after I returned to SIngapore. But whatever I do today, whichever jobs, it only leads my heart to one thing, that I would want to pursue my journey by serving like the dervishes. Nothing else. This article is thought provoking and many people I knew in a team project are still trying to figure out what their next call is after losing their jobs in the pandemic. Strange it is despite being at 40s or 50s there are people still looking out for what their calling is.
