Self-Encouragement
Believe In Yourself That You Can Do It
Losing purpose in life is worse than a nightmare so you must not believe 100% what others say about you…
“Pey-dey!” humped the girl.
It is an Indonesian word I first heard in the boarding school years ago. It is like an acronym, but one which means “over-believing in yourself”.
However, in their environment, it is treated as a negative remark pointing that you are shamelessly being over confident of yourself. And it is also an indication that you are wrong most of the time.
Too much of it can make you feel doubtful about yourself over time.
That’s the danger of allowing yourself to take in what other people say about you 100%. You got to know yourself well to set that line distinguishing who you are apart from what others said.
With the pandemic, many people lost jobs. It is time like this I met all sorts of people. Honestly, everyone is looking for a change of air to breathe.
Entrepreneurship. Dropship. Networking relationship.
A person I got to know had grown bored of life & thinking of retirement way before going through the 40s. It is different from having so many options in front of you, and you are still unsure which suits you best.
He is a man who lost it all. Losing purpose in life is worse than a nightmare.
What robs you away from strength & hope? Let’s examine 4-points together, shall we?
1 — Look who you socialize with and who are surrounding you
Yes, I am referring to external factors like colleagues and friends. The intoxicated environment will squeeze double your energy rate more than a healthy one.
You have control over these outer regions: friends & colleagues.
Remember, I am reminding us of the word energy. Where did you place your energy daily? Are these people worth your energy?
2 — Do you need to tell everybody what you will be doing next minute?
When you find yourself with people who keep asking about your next move, with reasons like ‘being concerned’, take a step back and ask yourself, what can the person offer you?
Is the person making an effort to help you? Do they make an effort to find sources that may help you towards your goals? Or will they brush away your ideas & dreams by telling you to do other things in life?
If it is later, keep your goals to yourself.
You can’t build a business empire over a night. It is the same with life. Your journey building a business empire may take longer than someone else. The journey in our life is different from others. Rest if you have to, and then continue.
3 — Have you doubted yourself often after everyone’s comment?
Then you have to start believing in yourself. When people around you doubt you can do it, you only got yourself. Be kind to yourself by being convinced about what your heart has set for. People tend to look at the End Results. As long as what you do won’t show them what they expected to see, often you will not find them cheering on you.
Have the audacity to believe in yourself — Dandapani.
In this World, seeing is believing. However, a person who has faith believes in what has yet to be seen.
Whatever you do, it is the journey that you got to reflect on. Look at the learning points beyond just expecting to be someone one day. The outcome is not entirely our business.
The journey and being the spirit of bravery to try are our business.
When nobody else believes in you, you have to believe in yourself first. When you allow other people to decide how your life should be, you lose your life’s purpose.
4 — Do you have to respond to Everything?
Bear with me one last point. All these are what I am experiencing too, or had gone through. Choose your battle wisely. Not all noise is for you. You do not need to respond to all mockery, remarks, or judgment by others, including your family.
I prefer to be Quiet.
You will hear more when you are quieter. You will see more when you are less noisy. You will feel more peaceful not needing to respond to the barking of other people.
Pick up yourself by reading, writing, watching your favorite series, having time for your chants, or reading God’s Words if that lift up your spirit. Do planting or cook recipes and bless others with meals. Find hobbies and create good habits subsequently. Have your vitamin D!
