6000 euros is expensive for me. I'm in Singapore and the driving lessons plus test are totally different cost though for us it is expensive too.
Anyway, you did your best and tried. That's what matter most. My sister and brother had license, degree, managerial rank, high salary... And a roof over their head. I don't have all these.
The "candid" thing my mom did always she praise them to the sky and jeered me to the bottom. But she asked me for help most of the time because the other 2 of my siblings couldn't take extra burden or challenge.
Yes I do have some moments of embarrassing or hurting experiences not within my control....
