2 Songs Turned 2 Situations Positively And Got Me High
Recently in a Web meeting, one of the trainers kept repeating ‘next slide’ as a cue for the assistant to navigate the presentation.
“…next slide please…next slide…next…next…next one…”
Several people suddenly got annoyed hearing the words ‘next slide’ many times. One of them stopped the presenter an asked for the reasons she could not do it herself.
It happened in the morning when sessions were dry and the people were sleepy, grouchy, uninterested, hungry or woke up on wrong side of the bed.
I was bored by the monotonous voice of the presenter.
The next day it happened with another different presenter. I could not accept having my day spoiled again. I was tremendously in a bad mood.
Frustrated, I said to myself, there can be no room for a negative mindset!
He was also monotonous and uninteresting. He said his cue “moving on” pretty too much but I guessed the crowd had given up interrupting.
“Moving on…Moving on…Moving on…”
My head heard the rhythm from the Madagascar movie “…You got to move it, move it! You got to MOVE IT!” And my head started to nod in the momentum like a disco rapper.
I paid no attention to the presenter. I needed my boost of energy within, despite the camera being switched on. The YouTube saved my morning.
I was happy and high-spirited! That was what matters most.
Another weekend, I had attended a webinar while I felt sleepy. The host played some noisy music to which I could not relate.
I had the tendency to be bored of a free webinar I signed up for because of my feelings. I observed myself pretty well now. I wanted to prevent any potential symptoms of depression especially during the pandemic.
I read articles from psychologists and psychiatrists a lot. I subscribe to a psychologist who is based in London and kept in touch with her via E-mail.
People with problems needing help from professionals show some signs.
- A tendency to cancel a meeting at the last minute.
- Absent from sessions booked in advance.
- Silently disappeared without news.
To force me into a hyper-positive mode, the YouTube music rescued me again.
“I got a feeling… that tonight gonna be a good night… tonight gonna be a good night… tonight gonna be a good, good night…” — by Black Eyed Peas
I was all high in spirit!
I am not a fan of music industry too much though I was more musically inclined to concert band in school.
Although I do not keep up with the current music trend, the random songs helped. I was hyper and thinking positively.
My productivity for the day increased at a tremendous rate!
The atmosphere was amazing. The webinar session was like a live wire bursting into joy. That joy and positivity were instantly felt by the rest of the participants like a ripple effect.
2 different songs had helped to perk me up positively and erased my uninspiring self on 2 different occasions!
I am not flaunting to be great just because the audience and participants absorbed my positive energy. It wasn’t my ability but it came from the strength my Lord had given to me. Honestly, as written and described here, I struggled, didn’t I?
So, let’s remind ourselves: We are what we listened to. Whether music, dramas, podcasts, or feedback, we are what we listened to when we take everything seriously.
Therefore, choose what to believe in from what you listened to, and heard daily from anywhere or anyone. It makes a huge difference.
